I'm proud and happy to announce that my husband and I are the first couple featured in the new "Vintage Twosomes" serie from!

The lovely webmaster Lena asks me some pictures and infos and here is the result.
I really love this website. It's very usefull with some historic articles, news about our small vintage world and I also discovered a lot of your blogs, girls, with TOP 100 VINTAGE QUEENS!
I think that to speak more about vintage couples is a great idea. I often hear about vintage queens, rarely about men and quite nerver about vintage couples! I think I will follow this "VINTAGE TWOSOMES" serie with a great interest!!!

Another bad weather day today with rain and fog... Will spring come soon? I really don't know so I choose to bring spring in my outfit with an amazing hat... An Ebay seller sold it to me labelled as a 30's hat but I think it's a pure 50's hat, isn't it?

Red is one of my favorite color.
Black and red suit blondes the best!

My husband chose a more 40's look with a so nice knitt!

The colors of these kind of knitts are so bright that some people think they are from the 70's...

The dress that I wore is a recent purchase, I love those 3/4 sleeves dress, moreover velvet is one of my favorite fabric. It's so elegant!

But there is a big surprise with this dress... its BACK !!!!

When I choose an outfit I usually choose the piece that I want to wear usually a hat or a dress and I build the full outfit by picking the best matching style and colors. Here I selected the dress first, than the hat, after that the purse and shoes...

I always choose the jewelery at the end!

My husband's wardrobe is also full of vintage goodies.
What a nice outfit he had today!

He also like to match style and colors...

We went to a flea market today but didn't buy so much but my hat was the big sensation of the day... A lot of people stop me to tell me how amazing my hat can be, I really love hats more and more!

When I began to wear fur I was so disgusted by these kind of furs with heads and feet... but I now own some of them!!!

What is your favorite color ?
What do you think about my hat ?

20's fashion

My favorite era for fashion is between 1945-1955 and it's those clothes that I chose to wear, but I'm a also a pre-1945 fashion lover.

For me, vintage wearable clothes are post-1935 and I consider pre-1935 clothes like a part of history. Most of the clothes before 1935 are really fragile made of silk, heavily beaded... Those clothes are really hard to find in good condition and I don't think I would dare to wear them and destroy a part of fashion history. Before the "prêt à porter" era, clothes were all handmade in a small scale and fabrics were not that much durable.

I think the 20's is the era that I like the least in fashion history (pre-60's) probably because it's the total opposite of what I like the most in the 40's-50's fashion. 20's clothes were too boyish and hid women curves. However I think that 20's fashion magazines are pretty amazing because they presented only drawings, no photography, and most of the time with a breathless ART DECO design!!!!

I found some months ago in a flea market an incredible lot of magazines dating from 1926 and 1927... All pages are hand colored with paint!!!
Look at all those beautiful Art Deco ladies, they are real piece of art, aren't they?

The tittle of these magazines is : Art-Goût-Beauté (Art-Taste-Beauty). I never heard about it before buying them...

With only drawings it's hard to imagine that all these clothes were real made by the greatest french HAUTE COUTURE designers : Jeanne LANVIN, Lucien LELONG, Coco CHANEL, Jean PATOU, Paul POIRET, Elsa SCHIAPARELLI, Edward MOLYNEUX...

Look at all those accessories! It's rare to see them in real life...

I don't like this style of hats much but those fashion plates are so stylish!!!

Do you like 20's fashion?
Would you dare to wear pre-1935 clothes?
