Getting OLDER...

Today is my birthday... 36 years old... I cannot believe it!

2001: my first vintage dress...

For that special day, I choose to share with you a little retrospective of my vintage years!

2002: somewhere in a flea market...

I have heard so much people saying that they don't wear vintage because they are too old...

2003: our first vintage festival RHYTHM RIOT...

But what is too old? I have often asked myself if I will feel one day too old to wear vintage.

2004: RHYTHM RIOT again...

Do I look or feel older as wearing vintage? I don't think so...

2005: don't remember where...

While looking at some old pictures of my early vintage life,
I'm liking to think that I have not change so much...

2006: going to my cousin's wedding...

I even like my actual style better...

2007 : our last RHYTHM RIOT...

Almost all clothes on these pictures are still in my closet and still fit!

2008: Disneyland in L.A....

It's true that sometimes when I put my make-up on I feel sad to see one more wrinkle... as every women!

2009: Trip in England after the Rockabilly Rave...

It's also true that I cannot anymore stay awake all night long while partying with friends...
but afterall I have never been a night cat!

2010: Disneyland Paris...

Yes, I'm getting older...
nobody will be able to do anything about that!

2011: Mexican party...

I think that vintage helps me to stay young: body and mind!
Must be like a kind of non-sense...

2012: in our garden...

Of course I sometime just want to stay in bed, looking at TV, eating cookies and wearing some large flanel pajamas...

2013: driving my '54 Bel Air...

But my love for vintage gives me strengh...
- to wake up early for flea markets,
-  to try to look at my best when go out,
- to plan far away trips,
- to meet people who share the same interest,
- to keep the same size,
- to blog also!

2014: at the theater...

Vintage must be my fountain of youth!!!

How old are you my lovely followers?
Do you feel that vintage is not suitable for older people?

The CITY of ANGELS....

First, thanks for all your nice comments on my previous post!

Here are a few pictures from our stay in L.A. last march.

I don't know why but as last year we didn't take many pictures there.

Perhaps because we have been there many times already...

or because we only stayed there a few days...

or just because we were too busy...

seing friends...

and also busy with vintage shopping!

It's fun to shop in L.A. before Viva because you can meet a lot of people coming from far away just for this event.

but there are also many other vintage lovers looking for great bargains just like us!

We were lucky because we could go to Rose Bowl flea market,

but I must tell you that I was a bit dissapointed with it.

A lot of sellers, it's huge but we didn't find many things from the 40's-50's and it was EXPENSIVE!

Thanks to a friend we had the chance to visit his familly business: CHOPIT Kustom

We are not crazy fans of customs and hot rods but it was nice to see the quality of their work!

We also "enjoyed" the great greasy american food...

Sylvain LOVE burgers!!!!

Even if we know this city really well it's always fun to go back...

mainly because of our friends there...

some have just bought a new house,

they were kind enough to wait for us for their housewarming party!

More burgers for Sylvain...

some good music...

a bunch of vintage cars...

some old friends...

some new ones too...

all people were so well dressed!

Our friend even had a vintage sale in his garage!

We laughed so much!

They restored their house like in the 30's-40's...

stunning, isn't it?

Some of these pictures are from our friend Kyle...

because we had almost no one from this crazy evening!

As always we left L.A. so tired but with many great souvenirs in mind!!!!

Have you ever been to L.A. ?
Do you try to meet people who share
your passion when you travel ?

Life in BLUE....

Here is a heavy post... I cannot choose between all those nice pictures...

There are some days when you really like how an outfit turns.

First, I had the pleasure to wear this dress for the very first time!!!

I found it in a vintage shop in Portland.

Despite I like blue, I don't have so much blue clothes...

Some people asked me how am I creating my outfits.

So here, I wanted absolutly to wear this new 50's dress on that nice day.

Wrap dresses are always so comfortable when it's hot outside.

After that I picked up this 40's navy sweater to match it.

Even if I was first planning to wear red accessories, I decided to change my mind...

I chose to wear one of my favorite jewels set: yellow flowers!

It matched perfectly the sweater embroderies!

This purse from the 50's matched the white/blue of the dress and the yellow/gold of my jewels!

This handbag is from MIDAS, I have just found another one cannot wait to show it to you!

So after the purse, I needed a matching hat...

I found this one a few months ago for just a few euros in a local flea market.

I love the delicate veil on it.

I was thinking to wear white wedgies with this outfit...

but I discovered these Rockets Original shoes in my closet (that I almost forgot about...)!

Navy blue sunglasses and here is one of my favorite outfits from few last weeks!!!

For once you will have a few pictures of us together!

We were out on that day for a vintage cars meeting with friends.

So Sylvain drove his '58 Continental...

and I was with my '54 Bel-Air.

My husband drive a lot his vintage cars but not me...

perhaps owning 4 vintage cars is perhaps a bit too much!

I like my CHEVY but I also like to be driven...

It's not like a modern car, you need to be fully awake to drive safetly...

you must break early, it's bigger, you must always turn a bit the steering wheel... it's quite tiring even if my car have alredy power steering and power breakes.

So here is my teenager husband...

This is not an usual outfit for him!

Vintage style jeans...

 and what?????

NO TIE!!!! Can you believe it?

I think this style suits him also really well, isn't it?

That was such a nice journey...
we came back home with some sunburns!

How do you build your outfits ?
Have you ever drive a 50's cars ?
